Dream Moving From an Apartment I am in an almost empty apartment with a few people I know (though they are not people I know in waking life). We are totally cleaning out an apartment. I am not sure if it is my apartment. Everyone has an overstuffed suitcase. I am carrying mine. It is extremely heavy, but I think I should be helpful and carry more. I turn to my left and standing slightly behind and beside me is an African man carrying a very large, overstuffed suitcase. I want to be more helpful, but I know I cannot carry one more thing because I have already tried. It is too heavy. I simply am not strong enough. __________________________________________________________________ Understanding The dream opens up with the dreamer being in an apartment. Apartments usually symbolize temporary living spaces. (Although, it must be noted that there are people who never live in a home and always live in an apartment.) Cleaning out the apartment points to a phase in development showing moving, change and reevaluating old attitudes and perceptions. There are other people involved in the project indicating that the dreamer, to some extent, as being with the collective. The dreamer lives in the United States. That country is deeply in a state of tremendous flux. Additionally, on the personal side all human beings carry a private story. Everything in the living space is being cleaned out. Her suitcase is overstuffed and extremely heavy. Regardless of her desire to help, to carry more she simply cannot. This shows strength. The dreamer acknowledges her limits. The ego is handling all it can handle. The dream is shining a light for the dreamer to help her see that she is ready to on continue to move forward into the next stage of her life. Old attitudes and behaviors may be pulling her back, but she is ready to move forward and must do so with discretion and attention to establishing boundary lines.

We sit on the beach and wait for the wave. Dream Interpretation

The dreamer states that in the dream it is nighttime. There is a full moon. As I walk along the beach I step into the calm ocean and the water lights up with a blue glow.

I am with a group of my best girlfriends as we leave a very nice restaurant after having dinner.

I am in the entry way of my house playing the piano. It is a big space. My friends are in the living room and the dining room listening to the music I am playing

In the dream, I wake up in a bed that isn’t mine. I don’t know where I am. Everything feels unfamiliar. I feel confused and feel disoriented. Suddenly, I begin to disappear—body part by body part is flying away. I am vanishing. "Oh my God! Oh my God!" I scream. "Help me! Someone, help me!" Then, I wake up.

Dream about an elephant. To my right, in the distance, is an amazing sight: a large elephant and her baby.

In the dream, I am on vacation in Maine, on a small touring boat returning after a great day on the beach.

I am standing on the edge of the lake with my toes in the water. On the other side of the lake there is a swelling of water that is moving forward, headed in my direction.

My boyfriend comes out of the bathroom and looks at me with disgust. He angrily says “You have done it again. You didn’t flush the toilet.” I had urinated and forgot to flush. Over the many years we have been together, I have only done this a few times. I feel filled with shame. The feeling of shame stays with me for days after I wake up.

It’s a stunning day, with perfect weather. I am in a car, riding along the oceanfront in Palm Beach.

I got a new job and have to move to a different town. I need to a place to live.

I am in a room, more like a long wide hallway with windows from one end to the other. I am looking out at the ocean and I see a wall of water headed my way.

I am in the kitchen of my old house, looking out the window. I see that all the bamboo that had been on the side of the house had been cut down.

I am flying under my own power. I can see myself flying. It feels really great. I never knew I could do such a wonderful thing.

I am outside of the building where I work at my university. I am sitting on a discarded couch or backseat of a car. I put my backpack down on the ground beside me. My about to be ex-husband comes and sits next to me. We talk.

In the dream I am in my house. It’s late and I get into bed with my boyfriend.
