Fish Light Up 

The dreamer states that in the dream it is nighttime. There is a full moon. As I walk along the beach I step into the calm ocean and the water lights up with a blue glow. It is beautiful—magical. I am fascinated, surprised, and slightly anxious. I splash around. I feel happy and filled with anticipation. End

Understanding the Dream

The dreamer stepping into the ocean places her at the shoreline between the conscious mind and her unconscious. Then a fantastical occurrence happens. The ocean lights up with the glow of hundreds of small fish. The light is blueish and iridescent. At this point a question to be asked is, in outside reality is this possible? With a little research what will be found is that there are fish, usually deep-water fish but not always, that can become bioluminescent. This occurs for a variety of reasons such as, mating, hunting, self-protection, and communication. The dreamer’s unconscious is breaking through. This indicates that her ego is strong enough to take in some new information. There are no clear signals as to what this may be but in situations like this usually another dream or two will present itself and add more important information to understand the dreams message. Additionally, conversation with the dreamer about what is currently going on in her life would be helpful.
