Scotland Dream

Scotland Dream

I think I might be in Scotland, though I’m not entirely sure. The landscape is breathtaking—raw and rustic, with a mix of sun, sea, fierce winds, and endless green grass. I’m walking with a small group of people down a long road that stretches toward a solitary building in the distance. On one side of the road are a few scattered houses, on the other side, the sea glimmers under the sunlight.

We enter a circular room; its walls are lined with windows that offer panoramic views. Everyone sits down cross-legged in a circle on the floor. I hesitate—I can’t do that because of my leg. The leader, the teacher, looks at me and says, “Follow me, and you’ll be able to join us.”

I try and for the first time in my life, I manage to sit cross-legged on the floor. I am astonished and filled with awe and disbelief.

Understanding the Dream

The dream opens with the dreamer finding herself in a foreign but beautiful land with other people (the collective). She states that she thinks she is on a retreat or something like a retreat in the dream. Her associations to the dream narrative and images are all positive. The experience has left her feeling very positive.

She shares that her inability to sit without the back support of a chair or crossed leg resulted from a severe car accident when she was young. After many interventions and years of physical therapy she is now only very mildly handicapped. Improvement is highly unlikely.

However, the dream presents unusual circumstances with a man capable of dispensing miracles that she is very willing to follow. I believe the dream is suggesting that a light be focused on situations in the dreamer’s life where her deep beliefs and expectations are unrealistic, and could possibly put her in jeopardy. It also focuses on her willingness to accept leadership from masculine figures, seeing them as extremely powerful almost magical beings.
